THE FELLOWSHIPS

The Harvard Club of Australia supports two Fellows selected from all nonprofit sectors Australia wide to attend the SPNM each year in July at the Harvard Business School.
“Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management”  [SPNM]

Qualifying a
pplicants may be nominated by a Club member, a past Nonprofit Fellow or their Chairman. They may also self nominate but they will need to nominate a referee to verify their qualifications.

Nominees must be senior executives of nonprofit organisations with potential to achieve significant impact and meet 9 criteria


GENERAL INFORMATION & CRITERIA
The Program and its aims

The Nonprofit Fellowships were created in 2001 aiming to:

·   help bring enhanced leadership skills and performance to the Australian nonprofit sector;

·   assist leaders to examine their missions, develop new strategies and improve effectiveness;

·   lever the experience of those who are selected to benefit the Australian community generally.

Valued at $A10,000, each Fellowship enables two Fellows annually to attend Harvard Business School’s landmark course Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit  Management.

Eligibility:

The Applicant must:
(1) be the full-time head of the organisation (General Manager, Executive Director or CEO)
(2) have been in the role for at least 12 months
(3) be committed to attend the SPNM course
(4) not have attended a previous HBS course

The organisation must:
(5) have at least 5 full time employees
(6) deliver services to the Australian community and not be purely a fundraising or coordinating entity
(7) have a functioning Board
(8) be audited and produce an annual report
(9) meet the definition of a Nonprofit and possess a designated gift recipient (DGR) number.

 After acceptance of your nomination, you will be sent an 8 page Application form which must be returned by 2nd April 2011


Program dates for 2012:

· The Nomination and Registration process closes on 16th March 2012.

· Application materials will be sent to the candidate on receipt of the nomination.

· The nominee must submit her/his application to the HCA City Office by 11th April 2012.

· Fellows will be selected early May

· An annual Awards event & Nonprofit Leadership address will be held mid June.
